Uwitige
Hello there, I'm Uwitige Eugin —
my journey is a testament to resilience and determination. At a tender age, I was uprooted from my home in Rwanda and landed in Kakuma, Kenya, with hope in my heart. Despite facing unexpected challenges, including early motherhood and the responsibility of raising three young children on my own, I refused to let my dreams falter. In 2008, fueled by newfound determination, I seized the opportunity to empower myself through a tailoring course offered by the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). It was here that I discovered my talent for meticulous creation and found a renewed sense of purpose.
While Rwanda holds the memories of my childhood, Kakuma is where I found my strength. It's a place where every setback became an opportunity for growth, and every obstacle fueled my determination to succeed. Today, I stand tall as a skilled tailor, juice maker, and tutor, each role representing a chapter in my journey of resilience and empowerment. Through hard work and perseverance, I've transformed challenges into triumphs and adversity into opportunity.
My journey is a reflection of the unwavering spirit that resides within me and the resilience of the human spirit. Despite the hardships I've faced, I've emerged stronger and more determined than ever before. Kakuma may have been a temporary refuge, but it's where I found the strength to carve out a better future for myself and my children. As I look back on my journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunities that have come my way and the lessons I've learned along the path to empowerment.
